YOUR DREAM KITCHEN COUNTER IN 5 EASY STEPS

It may seem overwhelming when deciding on a new countertop for your home, but know that we are here to walk you through each part of the journey. We know that we can help you find the right countertop to complement your home. From wood species to finish, texture, and knife slots, you have a few choices to make. Let’s get started…

STEP 1: PICK YOUR WOOD

Do you like dark wood or light? Do you want it to match the rest of your home or stand alone? Ask a representative from Maui Windows & Doors to help you choose between walnut, mahogany, and many more. Don’t worry if you’re not 100% sure, the choice isn’t final until it’s being installed.

STEP 2: THICKNESS

How thick do you want your counter? Do you want some more height? A thicker counter for a large island? Thinner for a small kitchen? J. Aaron makes whatever thickness you want, as long as it’s between 1-1/4″ up to 5-1/2″ thick. Whatever you choose, we’ll make sure it fits your home and your budget.

STEP 3: PICK YOUR STYLE

Because there are no boards in the world wide enough to make a wood countertop out of just one board we use several boards glued together to make up the width. There are two ways we do it, each with its own look. These are the construction styles.

STEP 4: PICK AN EDGE

J. Aaron countertops have visible edges with many design choices to look at. We can get you traditional square and simple, large and fancy, or just something to add a hint of detail.

STEP 5: SEAL THE DEAL

With three sealer options to choose from, your last choice shouldn’t be too hard. For sinks, we recommend the Rubio Monocoat. For tabletops and bars, you’ll want Polyurethane and butcher block tops and cutting boards do best with simple Butcher Block Wax.
